Photography Show @ Marfa Table
Description:
Photographer George Brainard will present works from his new series, Food Animals, at the Marfa Table, on Saturday the 11th, 4 - 7p. Brainards photographs look at the lives and the faces of the animals that supply our food. Although we eat everyday, too often we have no idea where our food actually comes from. With these photographs Brainard has taken his skills as a people photographer and applied them to everyday farm animals, creating beautiful black and white portraits. The images were made at three small family farms in Central Texas. George Brainard is a sixth generation Texan whose photographs have appeared in The New York Times, The Times of London and numerous international magazines and advertisements. A former working musician, Brainard has shot over fifty CD covers. He is based in Austin, Texas. Please join us!
