Reading @ Marfa Book Co
Description:
Reading at the Marfa Book Co. Jean Valentine, Lannan Writer-in-Residence and winner of the National Book award for Poetry (2004), will be reading from new work. Those who attended her recent reading with Kate Greenstreet will be waiting for another chance to hear her new translations from Marina Tsvetaeva's work. Excellent. 6pm.

CDRI Open House
Description:
Thanksgiving Open House at Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, Hwy 118 in Fort Davis. Friday & Saturday, November 27 & 28 9 AM-5 PM. Admission-free for all visitors Take a brisk walk through the canyon or find that perfect gift in the Leapin' Lizards Nature Shop. Guided hikes are planned for 1:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday. Stop by the Visitors' Center for maps, cookies, and hot chocolate. Admission is free for everyone!

Hunting Marfa Lights @ Apache Trading Post
Description:
James Bunnell, former NASA engineer, will be autographing his new book, "Hunting Marfa Lights" at Apache Trading Post in Alpine. Bring your out of town relatives out to visit with this former Marfa resident and learn more about those mystery lights. Bunnell will preview his video footage of the lights taken from his numerous stationary cameras ans answer any questions. Friday, Nov 27 & Saturday Nov 28 1-4 p.m.
