Opening Reception
- Description:
- Everyone is invited to a special exhibition of artwork by students in Chinati�s Summer Art Classes on Friday, July 17 from 5 � 7 PM at the Ice Plant on East Oak Street in Marfa.
This year the students visited Chinati to tour both the Foundation�s exhibition spaces and offices and to meet the museum director, conservator, interns, custodians and other staff members in preparation for designing and building a museum space of their own at the Ice Plant. After brainstorming about the kind of museum they wanted to create, the type of artwork they wanted to show, and the supplies and equipment they would need, the students set to work building walls, painting surfaces, making computers and filing cabinets, and creating lots of art to make their vision come to life.

- The Sul Ross State University Summer Theater program presents Petra's Sueno, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:15pm at the Outdoor Theatre at Kokernot Lodge.
