| Description: | The 2nd Annual Marfa Jazz Festival August 27-29 Celebrate the end of summer and cool off with some of the best sounds in Texas. In partnership with Marfa Live Arts, the Marfa Jazz Festival will showcase some of Texas� best musicians. The festival begins on Friday, August 27 @ 8pm with Austin and LA chanteuse Chrysta Bell backed by Canadian guitarist Jake Langley, Grammy-nominated bassist Chris Maresh, and phenomenal drummer Rob Kazenel. The second concert on Saturday, August 28, 8:00 P.M. features Horace Alexander Young on sax, flute, piccolo and vocals. Jake, Chris, and Rob will also back Horace. And finally, on Sunday, August 29 at 1:00 P.M. will be The Texas Gospel Showcase! We are pleased that this sold-out show from the Padre�s Grand Opening weekend will become a part of the Marfa Jazz Festival. Vocalists Barbara Johnson Tucker, April Hubert, and Jo Carol Moffett join the Reverend Jimmy D. Hunter for this special concert. All 3 performances will be at the Crowley Theatre (Austin St. and El Paso St., Marfa, TX). Tickets are $20 for each show, available on-line for will call and at the door, cash or check only. To conclude the weekend, Padre�s will host a Jazz Jam on Sunday, August 29 at 6:00 P.M. Jazz Jam tickets are $5 with all proceeds benefiting the Marfa Jazz Festival.
